Las preposiciones: in - recapitulación

Repasemos todo lo que hemos aprendido hasta ahora sobre la preposición in. Podrás utilizar las tablas siguientes en cualquier momento como cuadro de referencia rápido y completo.

Usamos in para decir en/dentro. Con algunos nombres de lugares, con los nombres de calles, ciudades, países (singulares), continentes, lenguas y nombres seguidos de un número no usamos el artículo (Lecciones 54, 57):

in + lugar
- Are you still in bed?	- ¿Todavía estás en la cama?
- Uncle Paul is in hospital.	- El tío Paul está en el hospital (ingresado).
- His dad is in prison.	- Su papá está en prisión.
- We're in town with Rachel and Philip.	- Estamos en la ciudad con Rachel y Philip.
- The baker's in Newton Road is closed today.	- El panadero en calle Newton está cerrado hoy.
- Is it windy in London today?	- ¿Hace viento en Londres hoy?
- We don't have any friends in Scotland.	- No tenemos (ningún) amigos en Escocia.
- Portugal is in Europe.	- Portugal está en Europa.
- We're in room 34.	- Estamos en la habitación 34.
- Questions 12 and 14 in quiz 1 are too difficult!	-¡Las preguntas 12 y 14 en el cuestionario 1 son demasiado difíciles!

Con todos los demás sustantivos usamos el artículo o los posesivos:

in + artículo/posesivo + lugar
- I'm in the bookshop.	- Estoy en/dentro de la librería.
- Do you have any recipe books? - Yes, we do. They're on the shelf in the kitchen.	- ¿Tenéis (unos) libros de recetas? - Sí. Están en el estante en la cocina.
- The ball is in the garden.	- La pelota está en el jardín.
- Is Kate in the shower?	- ¿Está Kate en la ducha?
- What do we have in the fridge?	- ¿Qué tenemos en la nevera?
- What size are the trousers in the window?	- ¿Qué talla son los pantalones en el escaparate?
- Do we have time for a walk in the country?	- ¿Tenemos tiempo para un paseo por el campo?
- She's on holiday in the mountains.	- Está de vacaciones en la montaña.
- The card is in the pocket of my jeans.	- La tarjeta está en el bolsillo de mis vaqueros.
- Mr Wilson is in a meeting.	- El señor Wilson está en una reunión.
- Are you thirsty? I've got a bottle of water in my bag.	- ¿Tienes sed? Tengo una botella de agua en mi bolso.

Posiciones en el tiempo o en el espacio:

Ropa (Lección 57):

Después de algunos adjetivos (Lección 69):

Después de algunos nombres:

nombre + in
- I've got a pain in my arm.	- Tengo un dolor en el (mi) brazo.
- Nick has a degree in philosophy from the University of Cambridge.	- Nick es licenciado en filosofía por la Universidad de Cambridge.
- I'm an expert in Irish music.	- Soy un experto en música irlandesa.

Con algunas expresiones comunes:

- Today is our grandad's hundredth birthday. - He's in great shape, isn't he?	- Hoy es el centésimo cumpleaños de nuestro abuelo. - Está en gran forma, ¿verdad?

En las preguntas lo ponemos al final (Lección 72):
